Cold Creek Description

Discover Cold Creek Islands

Just below Whiteface Mountain, this majestic 50+ acre setting rests along 1700 feet of Ausable River shoreline, including several private islands. Guests experience luxury accommodations and amenities while enjoying an unapparelled Adirondack mountain escape at Cold Creek Islands.

The stunning main lodge boasts three bedrooms with two and one-half bathrooms. The ground floor includes and small game room and available activity gear. The main floor hosts a great room, kitchen, laundry room, powder room and primary queen-suite with private bath. The upper level provides an additional two bedrooms, both with queen trundle beds, a full bath and a cozy reading loft complete with day bed.

While the main lodge is exceptional, outside is where you'll find the real Cold Creek Islands experience. Set between private pine and hardwood forests, guests can explore meandering nature trails leading to a massive watershed and shoreline on the west branch of the Ausable River, renowned for its incredible fly fishing.

Guests can picnic on a river-stone beach or access any number of canoes, kayaks, and SUP boards for a summer's day on the river, all located just a few hundred feet from the lodge. Along your walk, you'll pass a quaint apple orchard and may even find a deer or turkey sneaking a snack.

Your outdoor enjoyment doesn't stop at the river! After a day of skiing, hiking or on a cool summer's evening, relax and enjoy the wood-fired sauna. Guests can also look forward to s'mores at the stone campfire ring or escaping an afternoon rain shower in a quintessential Adirondack lean-to.

Cold Creek Islands is only 1.5 miles to Whiteface Mountain and 1.8 miles to downtown Wilmington, Lake Everest beach and Santa's Workshop. It's an exquisite nine-mile drive to Lake Placid where guests can enjoy shopping, bistros and the Olympic Center. Along the drive, guests will discover a plethora of hiking trails and High Falls Gorge.

Your very own private, quiet, one stop Adirondack get-away is waiting for you at Cold Creek Islands.
